Journal and smashbook

Vandaag heb ik zowel in mijn altered book als in het groene (tasty) smashbook met stempels en stencils zitten spelen. In mijn altered book heb ik wel meer stempels uitgeprobeerd maar doordat het een dik boek is en de pagina's dus erg rond lopen wordt de stempel afdruk niet altijd even mooi. Nu heb ik eerst op dun papier (patroontekenpapier) gestempeld en dat daarna met een dunne laag gesso in het boek geplakt. Het resultaat is mooier dan wanneer je lijm gebruikt. Door in het vervolg een stuk papier mee te kleuren tijdens het verven kun je voorkomen dat de randen van het papier duidelijk zichtbaar zijn. Dat moet ik nog een keer uitproberen. De pagina's in het smashbook zijn wel rechtstreeks gestempeld.

Today I played with some stamps and stencils in both my altered book and the tasty style (green) smashbook. I have used some stamps before in the altered book but the prints are not alway as they should be because of the thickness of the book. When the book is open the pages won't lay flat anymore. One solution is to stamp on thin paper ( I used pattern paper) and then glue the paper in the book. Instead of glue I used white gesso which is less visible. Next time when painting a page I will also paint a piece of paper to stamp on. In the smashbook I have stamped directly on the pages.
